We rang in 2017 and hit the ground running!  As a full-band, we've so far we've had two public shows, three weddings, and two private events/parties ... and more this coming weekend.  We started the first week in January with a showcase at Fox Hollow, played a Saturday and then a Sunday a weddings at the 1940s Air Terminal Museum and The Bell Tower on 34th and the following week played a ~500 guest wedding at Kim Son downtown.  We also had smaller corporate events at The Dunlavy and The Houstonian. We'll be back at one of our favorite spots, Hyatt Centric The Woodlands, on Friday before being back at Bell Tower again on Saturday.

We were also awarded our fourth consecutive "Wedding Wire Couple's Choice Award."  This was our first year receiving it while playing weddings and events exclusively as a full-band.  It's awarded to the top 5% of wedding professionals on based on client reviews.  It's a testament to the hard work all the band members have put in and how we've worked to make sure that at each reception, we're able to make sure it's a night unique to that couple.   Honored to have received it!

Come on out to Fox Hollow Houston to hear the full-range of what we do every week!  We will be beginning with some acoustic and jazz songs followed by a high-energy dance songs set as an 8-piece band. The event is FREE and is located 2 blocks off Washington & Shepherd (4617 Nett St.).

A great thing about being just one band is that there are times where we develop really fantastic relationships with our couples.  To the extent that after the wedding we kind of secretly expect to be friends for years to come. The couple find us online, come out and see us at a show, and then we meet to discuss the reception.  Once the wedding happens, we get to hear stories and toasts about the couple, and then we get the awesome responsibility of getting all their family and friends to lose it on the dance floor.  It's expected of us.  The feeling of delivering on those expectations is fantastic and as a result of the close relationship, we are honored to get some of the kindest emails, voicemails, Facebook posts, and texts.  Here's some that we've gotten in the past few months.

While the majority of what we play is wedding receptions, we also play many other events and celebrations.  Here's a few highlights!

In March we had an incredibly fun show playing at the after-party for a group of professional international dancers who had just performed at the 2016 Dance Salad show at the Worthem Theatre.  The after-party at Hard Rock Houston ran right up until 2 AM and we couldn't have had any more fun.

June brought us the privilege of playing at Texas Restaurant Association's annual awards show at Revention Music Center.  That stage and sound system was top-notch.

In July, we played The Woodlands Township 4th of July Red, Hot, & Blue Festival at the Woodlands Waterway.

In addition to the the events mentioned above we were a part of events at The Astorian, Irma's Downtown, Hilton Americas, St. Regis, & River Oaks Baptist, just to name a few.

"And in January, we’re getting married” -The Avett Brothers

Traditionally after the holidays, January is a slower month.  Based on our experience, it doesn’t seem to have the weather allure that March-April and October-November do for weddings in Houston (although it's currently sunny and 68 degrees as I'm typing this).  Everyone (including us) is probably getting back in to a regular schedule after a busy holiday.  Businesses are gearing back up for a new year.  Well, this year was the exception.

After the band played a New Year's event in The Woodlands, Danny and Marilyn (cello) played a couple duo dates at the Magical Winter Lights festival at Sam Houston Race Park.  Outside from just being the musical entertainment at a fun-festival, they played a part in arranging a special song for a surprise engagement.  It was a super emotional moment (she said "yes" of course!) and they were honored to be in on the occasion.  Danny spent some time in Florida and on return, he and Jenny played two of their final Saturday events as a duet (rather than a full-band).  Both were lovely, unique, interactive, and fun, and because they were at Peli Peli and Brennan’s, everyone ate quite well.

We were also honored in receiving our fourth consecutive "BEST OF" award.  This one came from Wedding Wire based on client reviews.

In the final two weeks the band played two receptions as a full 9-piece band, and had a public show as a 6-piece at the Hyatt Centric.  The first reception at Bell Tower on 34th in Houston and the second had 500 guests in attendance, and took place at Harmonie Hall just outside of Brenham.  We were told it was the only venue in the area that could support that many people!   Danny Ray and the Acoustic Production's 6-piece includes lead vocals by Danny, bass, drums, lead guitar, keys, and 1 horn player.  The 9-piece band adds a fuller sound and more variety with 2 additional horns and female vocals. Both are great, bring lots of energy, and can fill a dance floor; it just depends on the venue and the event as to what works best!

If you have questions about your event shoot us a line. Thanks for reading!

Time for an oil change!  Between October and December the band put a good many miles on Texas highways.  October started off in Conroe at Olde Dobbin Station and took us to a wedding and reception on Tiki Island, one in Richmond, TX, a corporate event on Washington, and a Halloween Party near Port Arthur. Not wanting to be outdone, November and December didn't disappoint either.  The traveling continued with a corporate event in Brookshire, ceremony at new venue San Souci in Tomball, and a reception at Station 3.

Despite the heavy private event and reception schedule, we also had some really fun public shows at Central Green at La Centerra and headlining the Pearland Christmas Festival.  Our friends with Green Leaf Films came out and captured some of the show in Pearland which we posted to our Facebook.  In addition to the band bookending the festival, there was an appearance by none other than Santa himself who lit the Christmas tree (was it the real Santa???).

Welcome to our new website!

We finished working with a super-talented design team out of Portland, Oregon and are excited to show you the all new!  We approached the design of the website and the new logos by trying to answer this question; how can we come up with a design that represents our musical personality?  How can we use colors & designs to showcase what we do is so fun?  We GET to play music week in and week out.  We GET to bring the PARTY to the reception.  In the end, vibrant colors, quirky designs, and a nicely organized video layout were what we decided upon.  We couldn’t be happier with it.

In addition to the new site, we did a full-band photoshoot with our pal Jenna at My Happy Lens just outside of downtown Houston.  We also did a full-day video shoot at the Sam Houston Hotel with help from Jeff at Green Leaf Films and David at Vellora Productions.  Head on over to our music page to hear some samples and see our song lists, to the video page to see us in action, or over to the contact page to shoot us a line.
